Killeavy Walk

The ruins of a homestead on the slopes of Slieve Gullion, one of many we will pass on our walk this Sunday, 1st of September. Following a new route, we will take in St Moninna’s Well, Killeavy Old Church, the Northern Cairn and the lake, on a 8+km looped walk.

Interested in joining us ? You will need walking boots, a water proof jacket and a packed lunch, expect to be out for around 4 hours, we will be walking on paths, tracks and open hillside and in places it will be boggy underfoot… we’re not sure that even a prayer to St Moninna will keep the feet dry… so we would strongly recommend gaiters.

Meet at the Gap O’ the North Pub, Jonesborough, at 10 am, we ask everyone to be on time, it’s All Ireland Day and we want to be back in plenty of time for “Kick Off”… we will car pool, as parking is limited at our starting point.

A reminder to all members: we are taking payment in full, this Sunday, for our Annual Away Trip, which takes place on the weekend of  11/13th of October. This year we are heading to Wicklow. Places are limited and filling up fast, so if you don’t want to miss out be there with your payment this Sunday!!!
