A great opportunity this Sunday 2nd of August to join our resident historian for a 2 hour ramble in the Cooley’s around the Long Woman’s Grave area. If you’ve always wanted to try one of our walks… this is your opportunity! Grab a friend or come alone, we are a friendly lot, always open to new comers. You don’t need any previous experience of hill walking, any expensive kit just a willingness to give it a go.
A pair of walking boots, a water/wind proof jacket, a packed lunch and a sense of humour are all you need. Your first walk with us is free, afterwards if you have enjoyed your experience you can join us, membership is £20 for the year running from the beginning of April until the end of March 2016.
We meet at the Gap O’ The North Pub, Jonesboro’ at 10 am for registration, -take the exit off the Belfast/Dublin motorway at the Carrickdale Hotel, follow the signs for Jonesboro’ up the hill into the village, the pub is on your right just after the 30 mile speed limit signs. We meet in the backroom for registration, where tea/coffee is served by our hosts and you’ll have to the opportunity to meet and chat with Leaders and members.
We walk irrespective of the weather so don’t be put off by the rain forecast, if we waited for good weather we would never walk!!! Seize the chance…Hope to see you Sunday
