Surprise!!! You are just going to have to turn up to see whats happening on this week walk!
But it’s a new walk. Its one group. And some emergency services! 🤔😯😮. And a few other wee surprises 💝.  It’s very highly recommend as many of our walkers attend this walk, it’s a great opportunity for us to learn something new and to observe some life saving scenarios and will be great fun.

Expect to be out around 3.5/4hr near  Ravensdale, you must make sure to have enough warm clothes – hat, gloves, extra layers, as we will be standing for a short period.

All walkers should meet at the Gap o’the North Pub at 10am for registration and a walks/safety briefing.

They build it, we walk it!

Next hike Sunday 24th we will be heading for Slieve Gullion, C will be heading up the Famine Wall. B will possibly take a route close to Killeavy Castle.  Both groups will summit Gullion then the Southern Cairn, over to Calliagh Berra’s Lake, the Northern Cairn and the King’s Table.  Check out the scouting pictures of the Kings’ Table and the new path from the submit to the lake, this is a delight to walk on as in recent years it has become extremely difficult to cross. Expect to be out 3.5 – 4 hours walking mostly on thick heather so take the sticks and put the garters in the bag.

Check out the video of building the new path on top of Slieve Gullion to the lake.

Sunday 10th Spelga Hike

Can’t wait for the weekend some very mystical pictures from the scouting at the weekend.

Next Sunday we will walk a new and relatively easier route around Spelga. We will explore the hills to the north – Spelga, Spatha, Craigdoo, Butter mountain and Slievenamuck. If the weather is clear expect great views of the Mourns and Down.  And as always if there is a bit of rain we still have mad craic! The walk will be 3hr+ with not much climbing but stick and garters recommended.
