Slieve Gullion Walk

Slieve Gullion Walk

The weather didn’t always give us the views we wanted today but nothing could dampen our spirits as we marked the restart of our Club walks with one Group out on Slieve Gullion.

A new route for us with new features to explore and as always Slieve Gullion didn’t disappoint!

Clean Up of South Armagh Hills Continues!

Clean Up of South Armagh Hills Continues!

Today we restarted our Club Walks and if  you spotted us on Slieve Gullion or Camlough Mountain you might have noticed we had plastic bags in hand. The latest must have hill walking kit, light weight, easy to carry and handy for picking up litter on your route.

We are proud to report we removed 2 black bin bags of rubbish from Slieve Gullion and a further 2 from Camlough Mountain.

Let’s all leave the hills cleaner than we find them!!!

Tidy Up the Ring of Gullion Week

Tidy Up the Ring of Gullion Week

Here at the Gap o’the North Hill Walking Club we are getting behind the “Tidy Ring of Gullion Week” initiative!

This evening a few of our members lifted the rubbish from the car park at the bottom of Jonesborough Hill, at the Old Church and Graveyard entrance. One hour later…

5 black bin bags of rubbish, a tyre, a bumper and more…

We return to walking as a Club this weekend and we will aim to leave the hills cleaner than we find them by picking up what litter we find on our routes.

Why not follow our principle and… take nothing but photos… leave nothing but footprints!
